EU Referendum Overseas Voter Campaign

Calling all UK nationals in China: Don’t miss out on the EU Referendum, register to vote before 16 May!

The deadline for registering to vote is approaching. The historic EU Referendum is taking place on 23rd June this year, but to have your voice heard UK nationals in China are being encouraged to register to vote before 16th May.

Do you know you may still be able to vote in the EU Referendum even if you are overseas on 23rd June? Out of the 5.5 million UK citizens living overseas last year, just over 100,000 registered to vote in the 2015 UK Parliamentary Election.

To make your opinion count, first you need to register to vote! Registration is simple and can be done in just a few minutes at http://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. You can choose to vote by post or by proxy (appointing someone to vote on your behalf) and all you need is your National Insurance number, date of birth and passport, if you have one.

Don’t let your friends miss out either! Encourage other UK national friends, family or colleagues to go online to register. Everybody’s vote matters! #UKexpats #PassItOn #YourVoteMatters
